AUL FOCA Petition

Dear Friend,

I’m writing to let you know about a terrible piece of legislation called “The Freedom of Choice Act” (FOCA). FOCA would establish the right to abortion as a fundamental right (like the right to free speech) and wipe away every restriction on abortion nationwide.

It will eradicate state and federal abortion laws that the majority of Americans support and prevent states from enacting similar protective measures in the future.

Please read the expert analysis by Americans United for Life (AUL) and sign the Fight FOCA petition at: http://www.FightFOCA.com

Thank you!

From C-Fam:

On December 10th, pro-abortion groups will present petitions asking the United Nation’s General Assembly to make abortion a universally recognized human right. The Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute created an alternate petition drive that calls for government to interpret the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as protecting the unborn child from abortion.

They need at least 100,000 signatures by December 10th, the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Please go to the Website: http://www.c-fam.org/publications/id.95/default.asp and sign the petition.

If you know anyone that would be interested in doing the same you are welcome to forward this on to whomever.

“A nation that aborts its own children is a nation without hope.” — Pope John Paul II

Cardinal George of Chicago, also president of the US Council of Catholic Bishops, recently related support for abortion to support for racism.  He compared the Dred Scott decision to Roe v. Wade.  This is a comparisson that I think we as pro-lifers should make more often.  There are many parallels between the decisions.  Most importantly, both decisions effectively reduced one segment of our society to a sub-human status resulting it terrible injustices against blacks and the unborn.

More on Cardinal George’s comments.
