SFLI Activism Day for February 2009:

STOP Killing The Dream

February is Black History Month. To honor African American History and advance the ‘Dream’ put forth by Martin Luther King Jr., we are opposing and exposing the horrific effects that the abortion industry has on the African American Community.

From BlackGenocide.org –”Between 1882 and 1968, 3,446 Blacks were lynched in the U.S. That number is surpassed in less than 3 days by abortion.

“1,452 African-American children are killed each day by the heinous act of abortion.

“3 out of 5 pregnant African-American women will abort their child.

“Since 1973 there has been over 13 million Black children killed and their precious mothers victimized by the U.S. abortion industry.

“In his Letter from a Birmingham Jail, Martin Luther King said, “The early church brought an end to such things as INFANTICIDE.” What would Martin Luther King say to the church today?
The Rev. Jesse Jackson once said:
“That is why the Constitution called us three-fifths human and then whites further dehumanized us by calling us ‘niggers’. It was part of the dehumanizing process. The first step was to distort the image of us as human beings in order to justify that which they wanted to do and not even feel like they had done anything wrong. Those advocates of taking life prior to birth do not call it killing or murder, they call it abortion. They further never talk about aborting a baby because that would imply something human. Rather they talk about aborting the fetus. Fetus sounds less than human and therefore abortion can be justified”.

“Jackson’s massive flip-flop on the abortion issue is further proof that his political future is far more important to him than are his principles.

“With 1/3 of all abortions performed on Black women, the abortion industry has received over 4,000,000,000 (yes, billion) dollars from the Black community.” (from BlackGenocide.org)

1. Educate Yourself – Watch the videos, read and explore the links and documents below. More coming soon.

2. Educate Your Circle of Influence – Use what you’ve learned to educate your personal circle of influence, i.e. your friends and family and recruit them to join the Activism Day to spread the word.

3. Download the Activism Day Checklist – Use this as a step-by-step guide to hosting an SFLI Activism Day on your campus.

4. Hit The STREETS! – Following the Checklist, spread the word using our posters, handouts and the HLA Did You Know Literature! Listen to podcasts and download any more information below that will help you with Activism.

“Freedom of Choice Act”

January’s SFLI Activism Day, to be held on Wednesday, January 28th, will be centered on the Freedom of Choice Act.

“WHAT THE FOCA?”

When you heard about the Freedom of Choice Act was your initial reaction something like…”WTF?!” That is the reaction most people have on both sides. This legislation is extreme and it will not pass if we have an informed and active public.

The What The FOCA? project is aimed at using the SFLI January Activism Day to kick off a campaign to educate campuses and the wider public of the dangers of the ‘Freedom of Choice Act.’
