What would you think if you found out that the state of Illinois does not report all the necessary information about abortion?

Well it’s true.

The Chicago Tribune found out that the state under-reports abortions by the thousands. According to the article, “the state’s system for tracking abortions is so broken that regulators may be missing more than 7,000 of the procedures per year.”

Along with under-reporting abortions, the state of Illinois is also under-reporting the number of abortion providers in the state. Twenty six abortion providers are acknowledged in the state; but the Tribune found 37 providers.

So, why is this issue such a big deal?

Because of the under-reporting, it is hard to evaluate the complications of an abortion. These complications can range from infertility to death. Due to the inaccurate numbers, it is nearly impossible to see if the doctors are committing malpractice. Along with that, inaccurate medical reports are also a crime. All of these issues need to be fixed.

Along with under-reporting abortions, the number of abortion providers is inaccurate as well. What other medical clinics are allowed to operate off the books like this?

Legal and Safe, or Just Legal?

Abortion advocates are always saying that abortion needs to be kept legal so that it will be safe. Yet, here in Illinois, it seems that safety isn’t much of a priority. Why aren’t Planned Parenthood, ACLU and NOW calling for investigations to protect women’s health?

Illinois is starting to get a bad name for itself! We are known for having corrupt politicians, which is a whole other topic that I could spend hours talking about. Now Illinois physicians and regulators are being sketchy on the number of abortions that are performed each year and the number of abortion providers.

Abortion is an important topic and it is already hard to find creditable statistics to back up pro-life reasoning. Now to find out that the numbers I believed to be true are not even reliable, that is upsetting.

Please keep the small baby and everyone involved in your prayers this Good Friday. We are not sure how the child was killed; the abortion clinic is denying involvement. Police are currently investigating. The Bishop of El Paso is also at the clinic now asking for the body for funeral and burial.

Baby Body Parts Found in El Paso Abortion Clinic Parking Lot: Police
Investigating

Early this morning, Live Action Investigator and sidewalk counselor
Gaby Federico discovered a dead, dismembered baby in the parking lot
of Hilltop Family Planning Clinic, an abortion clinic in El Paso, TX.
The Hilltop clinic advertises abortions up to 15 weeks.

Federico and a fellow pro-life sidewalk counselor at the clinic were
alerted to the find by a man who lives next door to the clinic. He
said the night before, his dog had been sniffing around the parking
lot and found the baby’s body parts lying on the ground. The man
placed the body parts in a plastic bag next to the clinic and alerted
Federico this morning. At approximately 9:15 AM, Federico and others
found disarticulated tissue, two bloody legs with feet, and a severed
hand in the bag.

Police arrived at the clinic around 11:30 AM and are investigating and

interviewing clinic staff. Abortion clinic staff have claimed the body
is not “theirs” and that they “dispose of bodies properly.” The Bishop
of El Paso, Armando Achoa, is also at the clinic and has asked for the
body to for a funeral and burial.

Upon viewing photographs of the body parts, former Planned Parenthood
director Abby Johnson said they were remarkably well-developed. “The
findings are consistent with the remains of an abortion procedure,”
confirmed Johnson, who at Planned Parenthood worked for years as a
“products of conception technician,” the abortion industry’s term for
someone who reassembles baby body parts after an abortion. “Based on
the development of the foot and the formation of the leg, and what
appears to be a tear at the top of the leg, this looks like an
abortion done through vacuum aspiration on a child at 12 to 14 weeks
LMP.”

Federico spoke to police this morning, who began an investigation at
the clinic. The clinic denies responsibility and reportedly told
police they “dispose of everything properly.” The Bishop of El Paso,
Armando Ochoa, has requested permission to bury the remains.

“This is horrible to know that these children are killed daily here in
El Paso, not only without a burial, but to be disposed of in such an
inhuman way. It’s not fair,” expressed Federico. “This shouldn’t ever
happen, in El Paso or anywhere. The world needs to see what abortion
clinics do to children. When dead babies start turning up in the
clinic parking lot, no further proof is needed of what abortion is.
These clinics need to be shut down.”

Lila Rose, president of Live Action, called the find was shocking and
sobering. “On Good Friday, millions of Americans contemplate the
mystery of the suffering and death of Jesus Christ. It is a fitting
time to remember that thousands of children every day suffer the violent
death of abortion, while too many stand by out of indifference or ignorance.”

“It was not until a friend at the University of Illinois invited me to pray outside an abortion clinic that the words “pro-life” actually took meaning in my life. Seeing the women my age enter Planned Parenthood wearing baggy cloths one Friday morning hit me with a wave of compassion and sorrow. It brought the pro-life movement from an abstract ideal to a reality in my life with a face and a story.

Knowing the importance of my generation taking a stand for life, I made it a personal goal to invite the women I mentor on campus to join me in the pro-life campaign happening now in Indianapolis.

Last week, I invited Tessa to go pray with me outside Planned Parenthood during our weekly discipleship time. Although she said yes, I could tell she was unsure of the whole situation. Standing outside the clinic, I taught her how to pray the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet as we watched our peers enter and exit the building. Except for the soft prayers, she was silent the entire time, taking in all of her surroundings.

When we left the grounds of Planned Parenthood, she proceeded to tell me a story of a friend who lived in the dormitory with her who had an abortion. ‘I just kept thinking about her, knowing that this is where it all happened.’ It was the first time Tessa had ever taken a public stand for life. We continued talking about her experience and how she could share it with her peers, especially in her field of nursing.

Gaby is another student who joined me in peaceful prayer outside Planned Parenthood. It, too, was her first experience with the pro-life movement. The following week she went back on her own and invited her friends to go with her.

Each day I am more and more convinced of the power of a simple invitation.”
