Well said John Paul,

My truth cannot change someone's emotional response to an issue. If I pay attention to their emotions, however, I will have a better chance of leading them to the truth.

I have an uncle who falls under #1. He is a Democrat period. It has become his religion. I gave up talking with him. It was all emotion and shouting me down. My guy did this or that. Always attacking, never discussing what his party does wrong cuz all Dems wear white hats and never asking what I believe and why I changed. Once I backed him into a corner that he couldn't defend. He literally says, "Well you are just wrong".
Not too long after I thought it was wasting both our times and gave up. Can't have a conversation with him without the politics so I don't talk to him.

You can see that the abortion lobby and the abortion industry (and their mouthpieces in the MSM) work to keep these dynamics as active as possible.

The abortion lobby gets a lot of mileage out of ensuring that, above everything else, opposition to abortion is just so gauche. All the Beautiful People are for Choice!

Hi there Georgia, thank you for your post! - I used the term jerk because was trying to refer to @Caveat's more colorful accusations of Jobs while making it PG.

If people disagree with me that I think killing someone is not the proper response to an injustice (like unjust labor practices), that doesn't change my opinion.

Unjust labor practices are wrong. People should not be exploited and their dignity should be upheld. However, killing someone is even more of an affront to human dignity.

So, Steve Jobs enslaved people?

I'm sure there are plenty of people in the world who disagree with you on that one.

And just to clarify, "being a jerk" means that you eat your roommate's groceries without asking. It is not quite the term generally applied to circumstances in which someone owns a corporate empire profiting from the sweat and blood of slaves.

Just thought I'd put that one out there.

I'm the product of a mother who didn't want kids and endured child abuse from age 5 until I left for college. If I had been aborted, I wouldn't have known any differently, and perhaps I would not endure the pain and mental health struggles I do right now. I don't want kids, and I know it's my right not to have them. Banning abortion is inherently unconstitutional, as it violates my life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.

Christianity is not the official religion of the United States. Furthermore, the US Constitution GUARANTEES a separation of church and state. While the Constitution grants you the right to worship as you see fit and freedom from persecution for doing so, it also grants me the right to be free FROM religion. While I don't understand it, I feel fine with other people exercising their right to keep a pregnancy. I also don't think people who are against abortion should have one. However, where I get angry is when they wish to pass laws that intrude on my right to control my own body.

Pregnancy is very dangerous. Here is a list of side effects, none of them very good: http://www.thelizlibrary.org/liz/004.htm. Most women will experience at least some of them. Pregnancy also requires you to abstain from all drugs for 9-10 months. I require my ADHD, anxiety, and painkilling medication to stay employed, provide for myself and my husband (he didn't go to college, so I'm the breadwinner), and not get so depressed that I take my own life. Banning abortion is antithetical to being pro-life in my case. If it's banned and I were to get pregnant, I would probably commit suicide by the second month, since even with meds, I can't handle it emotionally. I've already suffered several miscarriages – before I miscarried, the pregnancy hormones made me suicidally depressed – and know I absolutely cannot handle a pregnancy.

I have met very few pro-life people who care about someone like me. I wish they had compassion for the human being who'd be forced to carry the fetus if Roe were overturned, but most pro-lifers I've met seem to value the fetus much more – or even at the expense of – the woman supporting it.

Please answer me honestly – how is this a pro-life view? How is forcing me to carry a pregnancy to term that I'm not medically able to carry, and that will result in my suicide, befitting of a culture of life? I don't have intercourse anymore because I don't even want to take the risk – it's not that fun, given the consequences – but then, there's always the risk of rape. I was sexually assaulted in my early 20s, so I know that even if I do everything possible to avoid pregnancy, it could happen to me anyway. (No, I can't get a tubal ligation – too young for the surgery, and it would make me sick, according to my doctors. My uterus is too small to fit any IUDs available in America, and birth control pills also make me suicidal.)

Seriously – is it ethical to force me to die so a fetus can live? I want to be very clear, there is no compromise in my situation. Either I terminate the pregnancy and I live, or the fetus and I both die. Which do you prefer?

And so, you youth. . .are very much the hope of the future!!

I just have to add a little something to your comments! A very wonderful, and very holy priest always used to tell us (when were a young married couple). Keep praying, never stop praying ~ for who would have ever thought the Berlin Wall would come down! And then, suddenly ........

Praying to end the holocaust of abortion, I believe, encompasses much more than "just" ending abortion. We all have to pray for the God to grant the grace that we can become, at last, that Culture of Life, as JP II called it.

I have pondered often why he used that terminology. Over many years have pondered it. As the parent of three handicapped children have pondered . . .what would a Culture of Life be? What did JP II mean?

Yes, we need to pray and fast and March on Washington. Continue to pray outside the abortion mills and keep current in knowledge of pending legislation. We need to grow beyond that to nurture "life"; all life.

In our personal lives getting involved with those around me who need nurturing. The aged, the sick, the handicapped. . .every time we bring our hearts, our youthful energy and positive help to any of these. . .we are building a Culture of Life!

God Bless all your efforts! Someday!
